Wrong Side of the Tracks

On the day that The Hubs and I were out taking shots downtown, not far from where I shot the Gargoyles and my favorite little Anheuser-Busch building, is an area that has been industrial for a long time. My grandpa worked for Rold Gold Foods and I wandered back to that area to see what was there today. A lot had changed, the old plant building was all but abandoned, but I could gauge where I was, because I remembered all the old train tracks used for shipping supplies in and products out. This was the view when we left the plant and headed for home when I was kid.

But, while the old plant and office building that my grandpa worked at as a kid was now basically abandoned and decaying, what used to be plain, gray, concrete levee walls along the tracks when I was kid were now anything but…

Shop ‘Til You Drop!

Everyone loves to look at pictures, but what about enjoying your favorite ones everyday and supporting artists at the same time? Did you ever notice those “Shop” and “Music” tabs right up there at the top of the blog? If not, let me tell you about them!

We have some great items from time to time on Etsy, usually handmade and always fun. We frequently make our crazy props for sale, like this Lightsaber (because, hey, you need a lightsaber!) or décor items made from our thrift finds or art photography. Under Music, you can find CDs and digital downloads of our music

BUT, our photography work is also on Fine Art America and the variety of items you can get there is almost endless! How about a phone case that no one else has?

Master Bedroom Makeover Update - Decorating Ideas!

Hey, gang! I'm back with another update of my progress on the Master Bedroom makeover! If you remember, last week I showed you how to use a piece of trash to make an awesome coat rack. And before that, I employed my tapeless painting skills using environmentally-friendly paint, I managed to disguise a flatscreen TV, and I even conquered the clutter in my closet.
Today, it's all about decorating - one wall! Yep, I'm nothing if not methodical! Or maybe anal...or super-picky...or maybe I'm just lazy...

Free Matting for Your Picture/Poster Frames!

I love this little trick and I've used it many times, since we have movie and music posters of all sizes throughout our house, particularly in family room!

My daughter is currently going through her obligatory Johnny Depp phase (well, I mean, who hasn't?) and her brother got her a really cool poster for her birthday.

On my Goodwill run this weekend, I found an awesome gray metal Ikea poster frame for $3.00! Since we always have posters hanging around, just looking for frames, I grabbed it!
