Monday's "Goodwill Hunting" Report

Hi, guys!! Oh my gosh, I'm glad to be back! I was SUCH a bad blogger last week. The first part of my week, I was in pain and then got sick towards the middle of the week. I felt like crap! Finally, I just decided to start fresh this week, so here I am! And I'm so glad you are, too! Love you guys!

I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend before Turkey Day, but right off the bat, Saturday morning, my mom-in-law (whose kitchen I remodeled over this past summer) called and said that the dishwasher we had bought her twenty years ago had finally died. If you remember, when we did her budget kitchen makeover, that black dishwasher was a dark spot in an otherwise bright and cheery kitchen, so I can't say I was too bummed to hear it was time for a new one.

Monday Morning Quickie

Hey, friends! It's Monday and after the busy weekend we had, including my middle son's graduation, I now have a ton of housework to catch up on. So, as a general rule, I will cut corners wherever I can to expedite the catch-up process!

One of my tricks is to throw anything and everything that I possibly can into the dishwasher. LOL I put in glass light fixture covers, toothbrushes, my glass birds from Scotland, etc. But oftentimes, the protective padding or non-skid rubber on the bottom of my items comes off in the process. That would include my well-used spoonrest.

Nano's Kitchen Remodel - THE REVEAL!

As you may know, for Mother's Day (and then some), I undertook remodeling my mother-in-law's kitchen while she was visiting her family back in Scotland. I knew this would be a big project. While I didn't have to replace appliances or do a major build, there was a lot of work to do, but I have to say - it came out awesome and very much reflective of my mother-in-law's bright and cheery personality!

Starting a BIG Project

First of all, let me introduce you to Nano, my wonderful Scottish mother-in-law. She is the youngest 81-year-old you would ever want to meet! Unlike many of her contemporaries, Nano LOVES to change things up. That's her, trying out an iPod. LOL And when Nano wants to change things up, you're likely to arrive for dinner and find a paintbrush next to your dinner fork! LOL

This is Nano. This is Nano on an iPod.
