Some of it you might remember some of these from my Liebster Blog Award post awhile ago. But, I've been lucky enough to get several new followers recently and I thought I would just throw this up to anyone who is curious about Who I Am and what makes me tick. I love to read other bloggers' personal posts and I haven't done too many of those. Soooo, I thought I would share some warts-and-all facts about yours truly! If nothing else, my kids can show it to my grandkids someday.
Anyhoo, if you have nothing better to do, grab a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and let's chat!
Hello, my pretties! Honestly, can I get WOOT-WOOT for the weekend!?!? Short holiday weeks are waaaaaaaay too easy for me to get used to! Oh-Em-GEE!! I thought Friday was never going to get here!! Time to kick back, relax (at least a little), and maybe snuggle up with some special folks to catch a flick! And Chad has an awesome one for you this week! (The Hubster, Mr. Haver Wisdom himself, is a huge fan of this director and he gave it 5 stars! LOL) So, let me turn y'all over to Chad now!
If you are like me, you are almost always
For me, the fun of Christmas is really in choosing and giving presents. I keep a running wishlist for myself and I've heard that I ruin everyone else's plans by getting myself what I want or need throughout the year as money permits. LOL I hate the thought of someone fretting over what to get me, but I adore fretting over what to get everyone else! So, I want to share with you one of my favorite gifts to give - one that combines the feel of something handmade and personal with the ease of store-bought, all on a thrifty budget!
Hi, guys!! I'm excited to kick off a new weekly feature I'll be hosting every Friday! Welcome to The "What To Watch This Weekend" Movie Review!
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you and yours are having a wonderful day, filled with family, stuffing, laughter, turkey, stories, pictures, and pumpkin pie! I hope you don't blow the buttons off your pants and I hope that your cleanup time in minimal.
I want to take a second, though, and share with you what I'm really thankful for. I'm thankful for them all the time, 24/7/365, but, like most of us, I don't say it enough. But, now I have a blog, and so they can't get all shy and stuff. So, here goes...
Thanksgiving, in our extended family, is my holiday. My mother-in-law does Christmas. My sister-in-law does Easter. But I do Thanksgiving. I have recipes that date back to my great-grandmother. Everything is from scratch. The table is set. The décor is fall. I would shoot for House Beautiful magazine layout perfection every year. I'd fail miserably, but I'd shoot for it!
Yeah, my table never looks like that, except in my head. LOL
Be sure to swing by and check out my post on Sugar Bee for a gluten-free, healthier Thanksgiving treat! And not some "eating an apple while others eat pie" healthy alternative, either! But, some good, old-fashioned pie! I promise, for anyone who is needing a gluten-free alternative, (like The Hubster over at Haver Wisdom) it's da bomb!
Hi, guys!! Oh my gosh, I'm glad to be back! I was SUCH a bad blogger last week. The first part of my week, I was in pain and then got sick towards the middle of the week. I felt like crap! Finally, I just decided to start fresh this week, so here I am! And I'm so glad you are, too! Love you guys!
I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend before Turkey Day, but right off the bat, Saturday morning, my mom-in-law (whose kitchen I remodeled over this past summer) called and said that the dishwasher we had bought her twenty years ago had finally died. If you remember, when we did her budget kitchen makeover, that black dishwasher was a dark spot in an otherwise bright and cheery kitchen, so I can't say I was too bummed to hear it was time for a new one.
I don't do politics on this blog. Don't get me wrong. I love a good political debate and I'm pretty active, politically, too. But, normally, this blog is about my other passions. However, I have a couple of things to say to what I've seen in my social media this morning, so I'm making an exception.
I wanted to share this wonderful effort underway, started by Laura at The Shed. It's a real, very tangible, and easy way to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
The Shed: Socks for Sandy: Helping Sandy's Victims
Hi, y'all!! I'm so glad to see you! How was your weekend? Did you enjoy your "extra" hour of sleep (for those of you in the states)? I have to admit to another dorkism - I reminded myself several times on Saturday that I needed to set the clocks back. I normally get up on Sunday, grab a cup of coffee, and set the clocks. However, this time, even after reminding myself several times, I woke up Sunday and immediately thought my cellphone was screwed up. So I rebooted it three times before I remembered that I had to reset all the clocks in my house. Duh. LOL
We had a fun Saturday, but I was tired and cranky after having to drop The Girl Child off at school at 6:30am to catch a bus to a state Student Council convention. I was in desperate need of new socks, I couldn't get back to sleep, so off to the shops I went. I did manage undergarments, (you're welcome, World), but the rest of my day was spent like this. Dammit, jammie pants are comfortable!
(The Hubster threatened to turn me in to The People of Walmart website. I didn't even realize the man knew how to work his phone camera that quickly. But, I will have my revenge...mwuhahahaha!)
So, today, I am another year older, which really doesn’t bother me much. If you ask me, I’ll tell you flat-out how old I am (45) and we can marvel together that I’ve lasted this long. Take that, March of Time! LOL
